Imagine starting your day with a thorough inspection of your tractor-trailer, ensuring it's in top condition for the day's deliveries. You'll interact with chefs, restaurant owners, and other foodservice professionals, building rapport and ensuring their satisfaction.
Throughout the day, you'll maintain accurate delivery records, adhere to DOT regulations, and communicate with dispatch as needed. You'll also need to be prepared to handle occasional challenges, such as traffic delays or unexpected delivery requirements. You must be 21+ years of age, pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen, and have a valid driver's license. A Class A CDL is required to progress into a full-time driving role. You must also be able to lift, push, or move product weighing an average of 40-60 pounds and as much as 100 pounds repeatedly.
Prior driving experience is preferred but not required. We provide comprehensive training to help you develop the skills you need to succeed.
You'll receive both classroom and hands-on training, covering topics such as tractor-trailer operation, safety procedures, customer service, and route management. We ensure you have the tools and knowledge to work towards obtaining your CDL A.
Most of our Driver Trainees have daily routes and are home nightly. However, you may need to work overtime as required, including weekends and holidays, as business needs require.
You'll be delivering a variety of products, including meats, produce, frozen foods, groceries, dry goods, and supplies.
Sysco provides uniforms for our Delivery Drivers.
