Inventory Control - Cycle Counter at Sysco Hawaii - Maui

Role Overview

As an Inventory Control - Cycle Counter at Sysco Hawaii - Maui, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our inventory. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the physical count of in-house inventory aligns with our records through meticulous cycle counting and other assigned duties. This position demands a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies promptly. You will work closely with various departments, including Merchandising and Warehouse Operations, to uphold quality standards and optimize inventory management processes.

Day in the Life

Your day will typically start with reviewing the cycle count schedule and prioritizing areas within the warehouse for counting. A significant portion of your time will be dedicated to researching the root causes of these discrepancies, which may involve analyzing receiving documents, put-away procedures, and warehouse movement records.

Collaboration is key, as you'll interact with the Merchandising team to assess the condition of date-sensitive, slow-moving, and obsolete items. You will also be responsible for initiating and documenting product transfers between the cooler and freezer, ensuring proper temperature control and FIFO rotation. Additionally, you'll review standard management reports to identify areas of potential inventory shrinkage and work proactively to mitigate losses.

On scheduled Saturdays, you will also serve as a Will-Call Clerk, coordinating and fulfilling customer orders for pickup.
