Position Summary

The Technical Specialist III or Sr - Turbines role at Williams in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, is perfect for seasoned professionals with deep expertise in gas turbines, reciprocating engines, and generator controls. Key Responsibilities

In this hands-on role, you'll tackle sophisticated assignments critical to Williams' operations:

• Perform moderately difficult tasks to ensure system integrity, support pipeline operations, maintain compliance, and uphold facility equipment standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex problems using technical evaluation, innovation, and sound judgment.
• Develop, present, and train internal/external partners; mentor junior team members to build capability.
• Participate in project planning, collaborating closely with company partners on operations, maintenance, and technical standards.
• Lead development and execution of tasks related to equipment maintenance, technical standards, and governmental requirements.
• Read, understand, and evaluate engineering design documents, contracts, and agreements.
• Serve as a technical SME in gas turbine and reciprocating engine power generation, with specialized knowledge in generator controls technology.
• Conduct technical and economic evaluations, performance testing, design, construction, and commissioning of new or upgraded facilities, plus research emerging developments.
• Handle other duties as assigned, including after-hours support and overtime as needed.

Physical & Work Demands

This role requires physical readiness: work in extreme temperatures, loud noises, and enclosed spaces; lift up to 50 lbs individually or team lift heavier loads; stand, walk, climb, bend, stoop for extended periods; operate at heights using PPE, man lifts, ladders, etc.; use hand tools. Expect after-hours, on-call, nights, weekends, holidays, 10-12 hour shifts, overtime, and travel with overnights between Williams locations.

Required Qualifications

We seek candidates with proven oil & gas experience. Requirements vary by level:

Technical Specialist Sr

• Required: Associates degree (or equivalent) + minimum 6 years in oil & gas.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s in engineering/technical field + 10 years progressive experience in field operations/construction or technical specialty.

Technical Specialist III

• Required: High school diploma/GED (or Associates in engineering/technical field) + minimum 4 years in oil & gas.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s in engineering/technical field + 7 years progressive experience.
