Position Summary

Key Responsibilities

As a Technical Specialist, you'll leverage your oil and gas expertise to keep our rotating equipment running at peak performance. Daily tasks include:

  • Diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing rotating machinery such as compressors, turbines, pumps, and related systems using industry-leading techniques.
  • Leading or supporting maintenance planning and execution to optimize performance and reliability of mechanical systems.
  • Evaluating equipment performance data and proactively recommending improvements to extend asset lifespan and reduce downtime.
  • Reviewing engineering design documents, contracts, and technical standards to ensure compliance with best practices for rotating equipment.
  • Collaborating cross-functionally with operations, engineering, and maintenance teams to maintain system integrity.
  • Training and mentoring team members on diagnostics, maintenance best practices, and safety protocols.
  • Participating in project planning for upgrades, new installations, and construction support involving rotating equipment.
  • Maintaining detailed records, reports, and compliance documentation for all rotating machinery activities.
  • Performing additional duties focused on mechanical systems and operational excellence.

Required Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • Education: Associate degree or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Experience: Minimum 6 years in oil & gas with a focus on rotating equipment; preferred 10+ years in field operations, mechanical reliability, or maintenance.
  • Technical Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude; hands-on experience with compressors, turbines, pumps; proficiency in Microsoft Office, PLCs, HMIs, Allen Bradley, and SCADA.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent organizational and interpersonal abilities; commitment to safety and operational excellence.
  • Other: Valid State Driver’s License with clean record; ability to work in extreme conditions, lift 50+ lbs, and handle shift/on-call schedules with occasional travel.

Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technical field for advanced opportunities.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

This hands-on role involves working in extreme temperatures, loud/noisy environments, and confined spaces. Expect to stand, climb, bend, and use tools at heights with PPE.
