Join Datadog's Technical Writing & Documentation team as a Technical Writer and create engaging, informative content for our world-class observability platform. Our Technical Writers collaborate directly with engineering and product teams to document APIs, SDKs, developer tools, and thousands of community integrations. If you have 3+ years of developer documentation experience and love 'Docs as Code' workflows using Markdown and GitHub, this role will let you make a massive impact on the developer community.

Work remotely from anywhere in California while contributing to documentation that helps developers monitor infrastructure, applications, logs, and security across cloud-native environments. Experience with observability, cloud services, containers, and AI writing tools is highly valued.

Key Responsibilities at Datadog

  • Partner with product and engineering teams to manage end-to-end documentation projects for observability and automation products used by developers globally.
  • Gather technical details by reviewing internal product specifications and conducting hands-on testing of Datadog products.
  • Create developer-facing documentation including guides for Datadog SDKs, APIs, and developer tools to accelerate developer onboarding.
  • Collaborate with documentation team to maintain high standards and drive continuous process improvements in our Docs as Code workflow.
  • Participate in business-hours rotation to handle documentation questions, requests, and issues from internal teams and customers.
  • Review and provide editorial feedback on documentation written by engineers and other writers to ensure quality and consistency.
  • Enable developer success by creating clear, comprehensive guides for complex platforms with multiple interaction methods (UI, APIs, automation).
  • Contribute to public Datadog Docs – thousands of pages covering monitoring, security, APM, logs, infrastructure, and integrations.
  • Leverage AI tools to enhance documentation efficiency while maintaining technical accuracy and voice standards.
