The Technical Writer II - Product Docs role in our Toronto, Canada development center is a hybrid position requiring 2-3 days per week on-site once established. In this customer-focused role, you'll craft high-quality documentation that helps users maximize the power of CrowdStrike's Falcon platform. Working closely with technical writers, product managers, engineers, and UX designers, you'll dive deep into complex products to deliver clear, effective guidance. Embrace our modern, conversational voice while adhering to best practices in structured authoring. This is your chance to advocate for customers and contribute to stopping breaches through exceptional documentation.
Create high-quality product documentation, release notes, API documentation, and more to educate and guide customers in using CrowdStrike solutions effectively.
Develop deep knowledge of our products by researching, partnering with subject matter experts (SMEs), and hands-on usage of the Falcon platform.
Partner with technical writers, product managers, engineers, UX designers, and stakeholders, embedding yourself in the software development process for agile documentation.
Participate in collaborative content reviews, implement feedback, and tailor docs to diverse audiences while championing the customer perspective.
Take ownership of your documentation projects in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, ensuring process adherence and best-in-class output.
Experience with DITA/XML and structured authoring is essential, along with a demonstrated understanding of topic-based authoring and reusable information architecture. Familiarity with XML tools like Oxygen XML Editor, docs-as-code models, Git for source control, and Component Content Management Systems are bonus points.
Excel with excellent writing skills, including thoughtful information hierarchy, strong sentence structure, and a conversational yet professional tone. Thrive in fast-paced settings with organizational prowess, attention to detail, and a user-centric focus on customer needs over system features.
A portfolio showcasing your ability to simplify complex technical subjects for target audiences is required. Cybersecurity knowledge adds a valuable edge in this role.
