What the Role Entails
Tencent is seeking an International Tax Manager to oversee tax compliance, planning, and risk management for its operations in South Korea and various jurisdictions in the world. This role requires a seasoned tax professional with expertise in cross-border transactions, international tax regulations, and corporate tax compliance and with experience in managing portfolios independently. You will work closely with local finance teams, external advisors, and Tencent’s headquarters, ensuring adherence to tax regulations while optimizing tax structures to support business expansion. If you have a strong background in international taxation, corporate structuring, and regulatory compliance, this role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced global environment.Oversee tax compliance activities, including tax return preparation, filing, and payments, while managing local tax audits and dispute resolution.
Analyze complex tax issues arising from business transactions and development proposals, conducting tax research and risk assessments to provide mitigation strategies.
Review and assess cross-border business agreements and contracts, ensuring tax efficiency and regulatory compliance.
Develop and implement sustainable tax structures that align with business objectives while optimizing tax efficiencies.
Ā Liaise with external advisors on corporate tax matters, ensuring compliance with local and international tax regulations.
Work closely with headquarters tax teams, finance, legal, HR, and/or business units to align tax strategies with company goals.
Provide regular reporting on tax projects, risk assessments, and compliance updates to senior management.

Who We Look For
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, Taxation, or a related field.
Minimum 5 years of corporate tax experience in an International Tax Group or equivalent experience in a Big Four accounting firm. Additional experience in other jurisdictions is a plus.
Ā Strong understanding of double tax treaties, cross-border structuring, corporate restructuring, and international corporate compliance.
Ā Proven ability to analyze complex tax matters, develop solutions, and provide strategic tax recommendations.
Strong team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, willingness to learn and adopt changes, and capable of working in a multicultural environment.
Ability to work under tight deadlines and high-pressure situations, collaborating with personnel from diverse backgrounds.
