The Territory Sales Representative position at PepsiCo in Columbia, South Carolina, is a professional sales role where you'll be the face of PepsiCo in your assigned geography. As a Territory Sales Representative, your day-to-day involves owning sales communications with store owners, managers, and buyers to drive revenue share and profit growth. In small format and low-volume accounts like gas stations, drug stores, and dollar stores, you'll handle all sales aspects including upselling, writing orders, and inventory management per customer contracts. For large format accounts such as supermarkets, you'll lead incremental selling initiatives and collaborate with Merchandiser pods for in-store execution.
Develop and motivate Merchandiser teams on order accuracy, customer service, display execution, and inventory control. Grow customers in your territory, monitor contract compliance (e.g., Pepsi's Customer Development Agreement), and sell annual agreements, holiday promotions, and initiatives. Communicate display needs and product requirements to ensure seamless execution.
Provide superior customer service, cultivate strong relationships, and execute local/national marketplace initiatives to maximize brand performance. Collaborate with Key Account Managers, Territory Sales Leads, and Merchandisers to hit Key Performance Metrics like revenue, share, waste, and profit. Ensure products are available, rotated, and priced correctly while targeting incremental opportunities.
PepsiCo provides training, but minimum requirements include being 18 years or older, possessing a valid U.S. driver's license with proof of insurance, having a car to access multi-store locations, and indefinite right to work in the United States. Helpful experience includes prior sales roles, customer service, or territory management. The role requires flexibility for early starts (e.g., 4 AM), evenings/weekends, and physical tasks like lifting 40 lbs.
