Required Qualifications

• 5+ years litigation experience, preferably including experience at a top-tier law firm or in the government as a regulator or federal prosecutor, and preferably with significant experience handling trials, hearings, depositions, arbitrations, and mediations (experience, 5 years)
• Experience in multiple categories of litigation including insurance defense, class actions, and contractual disputes (experience)
• Juris Doctor Degree with excellent academic credentials (degree in degree with excellent academic credentials)
• Excellent analytical and writing skills (experience)
• Business-savvy, creative approach to problem-solving (experience)
• Evidence of exceptional ability (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Have direct responsibility over all aspects of litigation matters, including drafting briefs, managing e-discovery, personally taking and defending depositions, and preparing and conducting trials
• Analyze and assess potential litigation risks and identify creative solutions to legal problems
• Represent Tesla in court as part of Tesla's in-house litigation team
• Drive litigation strategy
• Counsel the business to minimize litigation and regulatory exposure
• Oversee and partner with outside counsel in select litigation matters, including matters covered by Tesla's insurance
• Run a wide range of different legal matters, with a focus on handling litigation matters directly
