Job Description

Consider before submitting an application: This position is expected to start around January 2026 and continue through the Winter/Spring term (ending approximately May 2026) or continuing into Summer 2026 if available and there is an opportunity to do so. We ask for a minimum of 12 weeks, full-time and on-site, for most internships. Our internship program is for students who are actively enrolled in an academic program. Recent graduates seeking employment after graduation and not returning to school should apply for full-time positions, not internships.International Students: If your work authorization is through CPT, please consult your school on your ability to work 40 hours per week before applying. You must be able to work 40 hours per week on-site. Required Qualifications

  • Pursuing a degree in an Engineering related field or proof of exceptional skills in related fields, with practical engineering experience (experience)
  • Hands-on experience with networking (preferably experience in industrial networks) and an understanding of how they interact in a complex products (experience)
  • Good programming skill, capable of delivering high quality at least one of C, Python or other software solutions (experience)
  • Familiar with linux operating system and docker container, dev ops experience is bonus (experience)
  • Exceptional analytical problem solving skills, able to identify and surface issues within complex HW/SW systems (experience)
  • Effective communicator and excellent attention to detail (experience)
  • Understanding of hardware and software development processes (experience)
  • Remain engaged, proactive and positive in tough circumstances, owning assignments and taking full accountability (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous systems integration experience, working closely with mechanical, electrical, and software teams (experience)
  • Experience with the embedded microprocessor design process: compilers, debuggers, and Git (experience)
  • Experience with tools for big data, i.e. SQL, influxDB, Grafana, Splunk (experience)
  • Experience with batteries, power electronics, renewable energy products and/or electricity distribution systems (experience)
  • Comfortable working with high power (50kW+) and/or high voltage (1kVDC, 480VAC) products (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Perform hardware and firmware integration of next generation Tesla industrial energy storage
  • Hands-on testing, debugging and troubleshooting on product hardware and software
  • Designing and implementing automated validation sequence to validate network and large scale system operation
  • Support plan definition for new firmware and software feature with continuous feedback for new hardware revisions
  • Identify, escalate, and resolve issues with hardware and firmware during system bring up, utility performance, and grid contingency test
  • Support FMEA as part of the product design, integration, and test process for 300MW+ industrial energy storage site
