Job Description
The Tesla Camera Team designs and integrates camera modules and cleaning solutions across all Tesla vehicle platforms. The team joins mechanical, electrical, controls, software, and manufacturing engineering disciplines in a highly collaborative team. We are seeking a talented Mechanical Design Engineers to play a role in building this ambitious vision into reality. There will be an emphasis on creative problem-solving abilities and technical rigor for this role.

Required Qualifications
- 3 years of experience in automotive ADAS or cleaning system development (experience, 3 years)
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, or Mechatronics or equivalent experience (experience)
- Hands-on Prototyping and validating next generation automotive cleaning technologies (experience)
- Presenting, documenting and educating others regarding cleaning performance, integration challenges and serviceability impacts (experience)
- Proficiency in designing parts and assemblies using 3D modeling software (CATIA preferred) (experience)
- Experience drafting engineering drawings and conducting tolerance stack-up analysis (GD&T is a bonus) (experience)
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment (experience)
Responsibilities
- Support the integration and performance of sensor cleaning systems, primarily for camera on autonomous and electric vehicles
- Design and validate cleaning systems (nozzles, air jets, wipers) for ADAS sensors and design creative design solutions and mechanisms to support Autopilot requirements
- Collaborate with Autopilot, electrical, and body engineering teams
- Develop system-level integration with sensor housings and develop specifications and accelerated test plans to validate the product for its determined lifetime
- Investigate several cleaning technologies and help validate them on fleet vehicles
- Fabricate prototypes, iterate rapidly, advance your concepts through to volume production
- Manage suppliers to execute projects according to the design specifications and timeline commitments
