Job Description

As a Production Supervisor for the Cell Formation Team you will have the critical task of managing the priorities, people and equipment associated with the production line. Your experience in fast-paced production lines where process and equipment development are key features that will make you an ideal candidate for this role. You have a passion for employee development and enjoy the process of training and developing both new hires and veteran production staff. You are very hands-on and prefer to be on the production floor and have proven skills in both process and equipment troubleshooting, allowing you to easily adapt to constantly changing production environments. Agility in motivating people to safely adapt to new plans and high-pressure production goals is critical to be successful in this role.

Required Qualifications

  • Essential Physical Demands: Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods of time, up to 12 hours/day (experience)
  • Frequently and repetitively, lift, push and carry up to 35 lbs. and climb a 10” step and back down (experience)
  • The ability to carry 20 lbs. up and down stairs (experience)
  • Frequently and repetitively, bend, lift and reach to install vehicle parts of varying size and weight overhead, accurately and in allotted timeframes (experience)
  • Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours/day, including over varied and uneven terrain (experience)
  • Stoop, lay, bend, reach, squat, kneel, crouch, twist and crawl for extended periods of time, including up to 12 hours/day (experience)
  • Climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding or other high structures (experience)
  • Ability to find issues in a work process and receive safety signals using sight, touch, and hearing (experience)
  • Demonstrated ability to handle and manipulate tooling and mechanically fasten bolts within required cycle time, quickly and accurately during new hire training and maintaining ability throughout employment (experience)
  • Exposures to hazardous materials used in the painting process and ability to follow waste handling/disposal procedures (experience)
  • Wearing Personal Protective Equipment, including but not limited to safety glasses, safety shoes, bump caps, PAPR, hearing protection, full-face respirators, gloves, and adhering to prescribed safety rules and guidelines (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Execute on priorities and production plans provided by operations management
  • Manage, coach, mentor and support up to 35 production associates on shift
  • Execute and maintain Standardized Manufacturing instructions and Control plans
  • Support issue resolution including root cause investigation & corrective action tracking
  • Ensure quality standards are being met throughout the entire production process and support no defects from leaving a station or team area
  • Generate daily pass downs and quality reports for engineering and operations team. Ideally go above and beyond to ensure seamless shift changes with clear communication of biggest risks and mitigation methods
  • Monitor and ensure safety standards are met by all employees
