Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Science or Engineering or equivalent experience (experience)
- 5+ years’ experience working in a production engineering role (experience, 5 years)
- 3+ years managing teams of people in a production environment (experience, 3 years)
- Must have experience managing direct reports in a production environment (experience)
- Knowledge of 5S, lean manufacturing and 6-Sigma principles (experience)
- Must have command of the English language both written and verbal (experience)
- Proficient with MS office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project) (experience)
Responsibilities
- Provide technical training to all technicians (8D, Kaizen, DMAIC, lean principles)
- Collaborate with the process and quality teams to support on-going projects
- Work with shift managers and other production supervisors daily to create priorities
- Work with cross-functional teams including process engineering, equipment engineering and maintenance teams
- Work with the training coordinators ensuring manufacturing Instructions, versatility matrices and other technical documentation are current
- Tesla people leaders are responsible for a variety of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) assurance functions, including ensuring their teams’ safety training is current, documenting EHS incidents, proactively correcting workplace hazards in the areas, and empowering others to continuously improve operations
- Reports OEE (cycle time/availability/performance) and required headcount for each area
