Are you only a year away from graduating and looking for an exciting career opportunity with Siemens? Our unique Dual Education program prepares you for future leadership roles in the company. The Siemens Certified Education & Talent Academy (SCETA) program combines theory and practice through work-integrated learning (WIL) for technical and professional students. It offers students a wide range of technical, interpersonal, and business acumen training and places them in roles across Siemens Canada's businesses.

The SCETA program begins with a 3-week paid orientation, followed by two summer work terms starting in May 2026. Once their SCETA terms are complete, proficient students may be hired full-time with Siemens.

  • Term 1: May 4 - August 28, 2026
  • Term 2: May 1 – September 30, 2027
  • Location: Concord, ON
  • Opportunity to work part-time during the school year based on availability and business requirements
  • An increase in compensation in Term 2 to reflect your experience and contribution

Role Overview

The Test Engineering Intern is responsible for developing, maintaining, and continuously improving automated test systems that ensure product quality and reliability. You will play a key role in supporting both ongoing production and project-based initiatives, contributing to the efficiency and robustness of manufacturing operations. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Production, Quality, and NPI Engineering, to integrate test solutions into new product introductions and existing workflows. This includes designing test strategies, implementing automated test scripts, and troubleshooting test-related issues to minimize downtime and enhance throughput.

This role reports to our System Engineering Manager in our Concord, ON location, 5 days/week.

What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)

  • Design, plan, and develop innovative test systems based on the NI TestStand platform.
  • Develop comprehensive test strategies and plans for new product launches.
  • Support production operations and troubleshoot test station issues as needed.
  • Provide technical training and support to the production, repair services, and NPI qualification teams.
  • Serve as a contact for complex, unusual, or critical failures.
  • Collaborate with R&D to ensure alignment between test coverage, test solutions, and product requirements.
  • Work closely with Hardware and Software design teams to gain in-depth product knowledge, enabling effective training of the repair services team.

What You’ll Bring (Qualifications)

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of test automation, C#, C++, Java.
  • Knowledge of networking equipment (hardware and software).
  • Self-motivated, collaborative team player with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Advanced knowledge of electronics.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Ability to thrive on the shop floor.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to handle stress.
  • You have a growth mindset with a passion for learning.
  • You are agile and technically savvy, with a knack for generating solutions.
