Testing & Commissioning Engineer

Job description

• On-site commissioning of up to 220kV AIS / GIS substation including Power Transformers, Circuit Breakers, Instrument Transformers; MV and LV Auxiliary Supply Systems, DC Chargers, Battery Systems, UPS Systems including Control and Protection systems

• On-Site Commissioning of HV & MV Switchgear, instrument transformers, power transformers, auxiliary power systems, including testing of secondary circuits and their integration into the control & protection.

• Understand commissioning requirements for assigned site and preparation of tentative testing & commissioning schedule for customer submission. Further co-ordination with our  project/site team and customers project/site team for front readiness and daily testing & commissioning activities. 

• Preparation of test documentation and as-built / red markup of SLD / cable schedules / schematic drawings in coordination with our engineering department

• Support of Commissioning Management in Quality, Risk and Claim Management

• Active participation in improvement programs (e.g. Reviews, Trainings, and Lessons Learned)

Key requirements and responsibilities

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with 3-8 years or diploma in electrical engineering with 5-10 years of relevant work experience

• Work experience / good knowledge in HV / MV substations: Primarily in HV and MV switchgear, instrument transformers, power transformers, auxiliary power systems

• Good knowledge in secondary systems of power substations with focus on control, protection and interlocking. Understanding of equipment layouts / SLDs / schematic drawings is a MUST. 

• Experience in testing of Switchyard equipment including Power transformers, HV/MV panel, power cables, control & relay panel and in verification of test results.

• In hand experience in the field of relay test equipment such as Omicron, engineering tools such as siemens software DIGSI etc shall be of added advantage.

• Knowledge or ideally working experience in the field of Electrical Engineering and commissioning of Electrical Power Stations or HVDC Systems

• Fluent English language skills, further language skills are very welcome

• Willingness to travel onsite for testing and commissioning activities and mainly long/short terms assignments at construction site

• Team player, communicative, proactive, positive handling of conflicts, decision-making capability
