De IS/IT afdeling van Thales Nederland werkt nauw samen met de internationale IS/IT afdelingen van de Thales groep. Bij IS/IT hebben we een agile organisatiemodel aangenomen dat lijkt op het Spotify-model in termen van Tribes, Chapters en Squads.

IT-Engineering Support is onderdeel van de IS/IT afdeling van Thales Nederland. Het IT Engineering Support-Chapter bestaat uit 30 enthousiaste IT-engineers en consultants, verdeeld over drie zelfsturende squads die nauw samenwerken. Het Chapter bestaat uit systeem-, software- en IT-architecten, applicatiespecialisten en infrastructuurspecialisten. We verzamelen requirements, valideren deze aan de hand van beveiligingsprotocollen en ontwerpen oplossingen en implementeren deze samen met de eindgebruikers, maar ook met de andere IS/IT-squads. Wij onderhouden onze eigen producten en projecten en zijn betrokken bij de laatste IS/IT ontwikkelingen binnen de Thales Group.

Over de baan

Als devops engineer werk je samen met het squad voor het uitrollen, onderhouden en optimaliseren van de nieuwe tooling voor Engineers van Thales. Het team werkt voornamelijk met Linux en Windows gebaseerde technieken waarbij de focus ligt op het automatiseren van processen. Dit gebeurt samen met andere squads om samen verder te komen;

Binnen deze werkzaamheden ben je verantwoordelijk voor:

• beheer van applicaties op Linux en Windows;
• automatisering van bestaande en toekomstige processen met Ansible ;
• GitLab/Jenkins CI/CD-pijplijnen maken en onderhouden die door het team worden gebruikt;
• het monitoren van uitgerolde applicaties en het proactief oplossen van problemen;
• de uitrol en het onderhoud van tools in nauwe samenwerking met Engineering Support-teams in andere Thales-landen;
• het actief introduceren van nieuwe technologieën ten behoeve van het team;

Over jou

Wij zijn op zoek naar een nieuwe collega met:

• een technische (IT/Engineering) opleidingsachtergrond;
• een klantgerichte instelling en goede communicatieve vaardigheden;
• goed probleemoplossend vermogen en doorzettingsvermogen;
• uitstekende beheersing van het Engels, zowel schriftelijk als mondeling;
• relevante ervaring met het beheren, ontwikkelen, en optimaliseren van softwaretools voor developers en/of engineers.
• kennis van Red Hat Enterprise Linux en Windows systemen;
• kennis over het uitrollen en beheren van engineeringapplicaties op een Linux / Windows platform;
• ervaring met automatisering via Ansible;
• ervaring met containers (Docker, Podman en Kubernetes) is een pre;
• ervaring met het verzamelen van metrics (Prometheus) en het monitoren van dashboards (Grafana) is een pre;

IT Engineering Support is part of the IS/IT department of Thales Nederland. The IT Engineering Support Chapter consists of 30 enthusiastic IT engineers and consultants, divided into three self-steering squads that work closely together. The Chapter includes system, software and IT architects, application specialists, and infrastructure specialists. We gather requirements, validate them against security protocols, design solutions, and implement them in collaboration with end users, as well as with other IS/IT squads. We maintain our own products and projects and are involved in the latest IS/IT developments within the Thales Group.

About the Role

As a DevOps Engineer you will work together with the squad to roll out, maintain, and optimize new tooling for Thales engineers. The team mainly works with Linux and Windows-based technologies, focusing on process automation. This is done together with other squads to achieve progress collaboratively.

Within these activities, you will be responsible for:

• Managing applications on Linux and Windows;
• Automating existing and future processes with Ansible;
• Creating and maintaining GitLab/Jenkins CI/CD pipelines used by the team;
• Monitoring deployed applications and proactively solving issues;
• Deploying and maintaining tools in close cooperation with Engineering Support teams in other Thales countries;
• Actively introducing new technologies to benefit the team;

About You

We are looking for a new colleague with:

• A technical (IT/Engineering) educational background;
• A customer-oriented mindset and good communication skills;
• Strong problem-solving ability and perseverance;
• Excellent command of English, both written and spoken;
• Relevant experience in managing, developing, and optimizing software tools for developers and/or engineers;
• Knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Windows systems;
• Experience in deploying and managing engineering applications on Linux/Windows platforms;
• Experience with automation using Ansible;
• Experience with containers (Docker, Podman, and Kubernetes) is a plus;
