JOB DESCRIPTION
Location: Ontario Remote Worker, Canada

This is a hybrid fixed term COOP role in Ottawa, ON.

Position Summary


Thales Corporate Engineering in the Americas is looking for a COOP/apprentice to support the Engineering communities. You will support the Engineering Director to build an Engineering community across the Americas that is greater than the sum of its parts. This will be done by connecting with the broader Thales Engineering community, supporting the organization of collaborative events, expanding the use of digital and non-digital communication and helping building operational dashboards to support regional activities.


Key Areas of Responsibility

WHAT COULD WE ACCOMPLISH TOGETHER?

If you are interested in building communities, Engineering and digital culture you can help the Americas Engineering Director by:

  • Helping with seminars and webinars to create a sense of belonging of the Engineering community

  • Helping spread awareness about Engineering craftsmanship, digital culture, learning in Engineering by connecting to the greater Thales and through digital tools such as SharePoint

  • Finding and helping create engaging digital content on Engineering in the Americas leveraging on what exists at group level, and also in the industry in the Americas

  • Researching and analyzing ideas from external Digital Transformation and Engineering events and proposing ways in which Thales can benefit from them.

  • Work closely with the entire Digital Communication team to share expertise, develop joint projects, and propose the best interfacing between the Digital Communication services.

  • Support the digitization of data for Engineering and the build the dashboard that will help the decisions makers

Basic Qualifications

WHO ARE YOU?

  • You are in your last year of study in a Business School or Engineering school with a strong interest for communication or equivalent

  • You thrive on connecting with others and enjoy building engaged communities

  • You have a high interest in Engineering and Digital transformation

  • You are a curious and self-motivated individual who enjoys learning

  • You have excellent communication skills

  • You are fluent in English and have knowledge of French and Spanish

  • You have knowledge in data analysis and visualization using tools such as PowerBI
     

Other skills/experience that are a preference,

  • You have a degree in Engineering

  • You are fluent in French and Spanish

  • You have knowledge of Portuguese

Special Position Requirements
 

Schedule: Core Business Hours: Monday-Friday

Travel: Some travels would be required within the Americas

The reference Total Target Compensation(TTC) market range for this position, inclusive of annual base salary and the variable compensation target, is between

Total Target Cash (TTC) 58,668.75 - 100,132.00 CAD Annual
