We are looking for a NavCom and Observation System Engineer

PROFILE: 
•    You have graduated with a Master’s degree of an Engineering School (Electronics, Aeronautical/Space Engineering, Computer Science, …) or in University 
•    You have a proven experience in Systems Engineering activities 
•    You want to update your expertise continuously and design innovative solutions to fit your customers’ needs 
•    You want to strengthen your expertise in the following areas: system and space segment design, space mission analysis, system and space segment conception, requirement management, system and mission analysis tool development, test definition and test execution, service engineering, service performance evaluation, service analysis tools development   
•    You want to solve complex problems and be plunged into a challenging environment 
•    You are recognised as a team player and enjoy collaborative work 
•    You have synthetic and helicopter view of the organisation 
•    You are resourceful, analytical and structured

•    You are familiar with engineering tools such as STK, DOORS and Capella
•    You are familiar with satellite navigation technical aspects
•    You are familiar with satellite Lunar navigation technical aspects

•    You are familiar with complex algorithm definition and verification, in the frame of the Lunar Navigation system
•    You are familiar with the development of specific analysis tools for the implementation of the Lunar System for Two Way Ranging characterization and verification
•    You have a specific know how on Lunar satellite mission and design definition and analysis
•    You have specific know how for Lunar navigation performances definition analysis 

NICE TO HAVE:
•    You are familiar with programming languages such as Matlab or Python or C
•    You are familiar with GNSS – Lunar mission, SSA, Space Cloud and related topics
•    You are familiar with Mission analysis topics and Mathematical modelling and supporting tool, such as STK
•    You are familiar with the Space Segment design and verification activity on LEO, MEO and GEO orbits
•    You are familiar with the system engineering approach for the satellite system design  
•    You have background on algorithm definition and verification through simulation tool development
•    You are familiar with the verification approach and test campaign setting and execution, with focus on GNSS-Lunar projects

LIFE AS A THALES SYSTEM ENGINEERING ROLE 
As NavCom and Obs System Engineer within Thales, you will: 
•    Analyse and understand customer needs through advanced studies, simulations, mock-ups, models, prototypes, … 
•    Formalise specifications and architecture used to propose the best solution / product to your clients 
•    Support the definition of System and Space Segment requirement documents and perform trade-off analysis
•    To contribute to the development of System simulator tools in the frame of Lunar mission and SSA areas
•    To support the testing activities and contributing to the preparation of the related documentations (test reports, test plan and test cases and test procedures
•    Ensure the technical integration and coherence of the system design, interfaces, and performances. 
•    Demonstrate to the customer that the solution respect the mission requirements
•    To support activities related to system dimensioning analysis able to contribution in the preparation of System and Space Segment DDF, DJF and ICDs
•    To develop ad hoc analysis tools, using Python, Mathematica or similar software to assess system/user performance and support the consolidation of the system definition
•    Interact with project partners for the technical aspects of the defined system solution 
•    To contribute to NavCom R&D and Innovative projects execution 
•    To contribute to the NavCom BID and proposal preparation
