Our Munitions teams in Benalla and Mulwala produce propellants, explosives and munitions for defence and commercial uses. With ongoing investment into research and development, we produce some of the world’s most high-performing guided weapons and explosive ordnance systems. And being at the forefront of a rapidly evolving industry gives our teams constant opportunities to build on their technical expertise.

YOUR ROLE

The Propellant Manufacture Level 4 supervisor role is required to:

  • Supervise and manage a small production team, including attendance and performance.
  • Oversee contractors and ensure compliance with site standards.
  • Work on a rotating 24/7 shift roster (5–7 days).
  • Maintain a clean, safe workplace and lead by example in safe work practices.
  • Investigate incidents, report findings, and implement corrective actions promptly.
  • Ensure accurate documentation, adherence to operating instructions, and support Return to Work plans.
  • Coordinate training and workforce availability to meet production goals.

YOUR EXPERIENCE

  • Certificate 4 in Frontline Management; or Workplace Leadership; or; Operative Certificate in Chemical Plant Skills; or equivalent
  • Experience in production planning and coordinating resources.
  • Experience in computer controlled continuous or semi-continuous chemical processes.
  • Good understanding of HSE and quality requirements.
  • Experience in plant trouble shooting, including recommendations and implementation of solutions.
  • Knowledge of, and experience in, propellant manufacturing or related processes

AUSTRALIAN DEFENCE ROLES & SECURITY

A Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain an appropriate clearance.

Additional information with regards to clearances is available from the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency website http://www.defence.gov.au/AGSVA/. In some cases, individuals who hold a current clearance from a foreign government may be eligible to have this clearance recognised by the Australian Government and be eligible for this role.
