In the framework of Thales Alenia Space Italy, in CFO- Financial Engineering & Insurance Management team we are looking for an Insurance & Insurable Risk management Manager

The ideal candidate will have not less than 35/40 years with at least 10/15 years of experience gained in complex industrial corporates operating at International level.  
Specialized  professional  knowledge  of  the  various  insurance  disciplines  (damage,  civil liability, etc.) and of the market (experts, brokers, insurers, etc.). Experience in Project Management.

Proficient in contractual insurable risks analyses and management as well as insurance policies management.

Full computer literacy (Office package and Excel in particular).

Excellent knowledge of English (CEFR B2, preferably C1).  

Excellent analytical skills, focused on detail and in-depth analysis, Excellent communication skills, team working and inter-functional collaboration.  
Problem solving aptitude, operational flexibility and organizational autonomy.   
International mindset and ability to operate in complex environments are considered as fundamental skills of the candidate.

The role requires availability for short national and international business trips.
 
 

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION AND MAIN ACTIVITIES

 
The purpose of the position of the Insurance & Insurable Risk Management Manager is to:

• Coordinate  activities related to  the  management  of insurable risks (e.g.  calls for tender, participation in negotiations, placement, follow-up, etc.) supporting business for local and export projects;
• Manage the prevention and protection policies associated with risks;
  Study and adapt the contractual clauses to the Group's insurance cover with the assistance of the Legal Department.

The main tasks for which he/she is the point of entry for insurance matters and is responsible, in accordance with the procedures and guidelines defined by DIRM, are the following:

• to report changes in risks (in particular to DIRM for policies negotiated at Group level), and thus to help optimize our insurance coverage;
• For policies delegated to his/her area, to contribute in  the rafting/negotiation of policies with Insurers and the Broker;
• To contribute to the implementation of risk transfer activities to insurers, according to dedicated processes;
• To manage and control all financial aspects (sales, bonuses, captives, fees, etc.);
• To manage claims and monitor their progress until settlement in coordination with the broker.  
• To manage and develop the local insurance team, if any;

 
 

WORK RELATIONSHIP

He/she will work in close collaboration with colleagues from other teams (Marketing &  Sales,  Bid  Management,  Legal  &  Contract  and  other  CFO  functions  on  bids  preparation,  contract  negotiation  and  programs  execution  both  at  Thales  Alenia Space Italy and Thales Alenia Space JV entities level and Thales Corporate; furthermore  he/she  will  be  in relationship  with the  network  of  insurers,  brokers, lawyers, market experts.
