Job Title
Infrastructure Engineering Senior Advisor
Job Overview:
Highly skilled z/OS Systems programmer, highly skilled at z/OS internals, able to debug system and application dumps using IPCS and Abend-aid tools. Must be expert at SMP/E product installs. Must have strong Broadcom ESP Installation and Product Maintenance experience.
This position requires configuration changes using Service Now to take place during our Change Windows. Occasional night shift work for these changes is required.
Responsibilities:
Install, customize, support and maintain z/OS and related products.Install, administer and maintain IBM and third party products.Train and guide junior staff members. Maintain current documentation related to each OEM software product.Work with vendors for system support and problem resolution.Lead the diagnosis of issues & solve problems that arise with software/hardware.Maintain and support established Disaster Recovery plans and exercises.Work with infrastructure teams to create and maintain standards.Provide 24x7 rotational on-call technical support.Maintained baseline operations for the z/OS test and production environments.Provided Technical Support for both systems and applications teams.Able to resolve highly complex or critical incidents within the z/OS environmentProvide project consultation to business application teamsAble to work off hours as needed to support product maintenance & installationsInstall/customize and maintain GDPS elements within the environment.
Education:
< >Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, or 5+ years of professional experience in the field.
Experience:
< >13-16 years of experience in the Data Engineering field requiredSelf-Starter and Self-motivatedStrong interpersonal, collaboration and team skillsEffective oral and written communicationStrong understanding & experience with z/OS and Program Products.Strong Broadcom and BMC/Compuware product knowledge and experience.JCL, JES2, SMP/E, VSAM, Catalog management, Mainframe communications, RACFExceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.Ability to collaborate with different roles/teams to achieve common goals.Knowledge of NetView, GDPS, Supersession, VTAM and TCPIP configurations a plus.
