As the Merchandise Analytics Specialist, you’ll lead advanced analytics initiatives across Merchandise, acting as a subject matter expert in retail analytics and data architecture. Partnering closely with Planning, Buying and key support functions, you’ll deliver high-quality insights that bring clarity to performance, trends and opportunities.
You’ll translate complex data into clear, actionable stories, helping teams make confident, informed decisions. This is a hands-on role where technical expertise, commercial thinking and strong stakeholder engagement come together to drive meaningful business outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
Analytical insight and reporting
Developing, maintaining and optimising Power BI dashboards and merchandise performance reports that deliver clear, actionable insights
Building analytical models and datasets to support forecasting, performance tracking and scenario analysis
Translating business questions into structured analysis with clear recommendations
Interpreting patterns and trends using statistical techniques to enhance decision making
Leading regular and ad hoc reporting to support Merchandise teams
Presenting findings and insights in an accessible, easy-to-understand way
Designing reporting structures that enable self-service insights across the Merchandise team
Data management and engineering support
Working with Snowflake to extract, transform and organise data, ensuring accuracy and reliability
Supporting the development and refinement of data pipelines, queries and data models
Troubleshooting data integrity issues and partnering with technical teams to resolve them
Identifying opportunities to automate manual reporting processes
Stakeholder engagement and collaboration
Partnering with cross-functional teams to understand reporting needs and tailor insights accordingly
Supporting Buy / Move / Sell decision-making through relevant data and reporting
Communicating insights clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
Leading training and creating documentation to support effective use of reports and dashboards
Clearly communicating progress, actions and outcomes while living TWG values and behaviours
5+ years’ experience as a subject matter expert in Power BI, including data modelling, DAX and report design
Strong SQL capability, with Snowflake experience strongly preferred (or similar cloud data warehouse)
Proven ability to work with large, complex and imperfect datasets
Strong problem-solving capability and attention to detail
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence a wide range of stakeholders
The ability to tell clear, compelling stories through data
A degree in a quantitative discipline such as Analytics, Statistics, Applied Mathematics or Economics
A customer-centric mindset and collaborative approach to problem solving
Desirable experience:
Understanding of data visualisation best practices
Experience in retail or a fast-paced commercial environment
