The Therapeutic Specialist I position at Gilead Sciences in Shantou, China, is a dynamic sales role within our commercial team. This entry-level specialist drives territory performance by achieving sales targets, building key relationships, and promoting Gilead's portfolio of transformative therapies. You'll operate in a high-impact environment, collaborating across functions to expand access to treatments for HIV, oncology, and inflammatory conditions. Responsible for meeting coverage, frequency, and sales targets in your assigned Shantou territory. This involves strategic planning, execution, and regular performance monitoring to ensure consistent results.
Contribute to regional training programs, honing the skills of fellow team members. With guidance, implement systems to track sales progress and provide actionable feedback.
Work with Medical Science Liaisons, National Account Managers, Marketing, and external partners to co-promote products. Participate in professional events, manage budgets for customer engagements, and communicate market insights proactively.
Adhere strictly to Gilead's commercial compliance policy, federal laws like the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, and industry guidelines. Complete administrative tasks efficiently, including database updates and expense reporting.
To succeed as a Therapeutic Specialist I, candidates need a BA or BS degree and at least 1 year of relevant selling experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry. Prior experience in therapeutic areas such as HIV, oncology, or inflammatory diseases is highly desired. Key traits include proven interpersonal skills, strong influencing and negotiating abilities, and familiarity with industry trends and competitor practices. You should demonstrate analytical prowess to identify issues and recommend solutions, excel in cross-functional teams, and possess resilience, integrity, and a passion for innovation that aligns with Gilead's culture.
