Field Application Scientist - Mass Spec.

  • Client: Pharmaceutical and biotech industry
  • Portfolio: Primarily mass spectrometry
  • Location: Primarily Seoul and Gyeonggi-do, with 20% coverage in other regions in South Korea


DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a Field Applications Scientist to provide technical support and training for our analytical and scientific solutions. In this role, you'll collaborate with sales teams and customers to deliver demonstrations, applications support, and training that enables research and innovation. You'll serve as a scientific advisor, helping customers optimize their workflows and maximize the value of their investments while contributing to our mission of making the world healthier, cleaner, and safer.

Working across multiple technology platforms, you'll provide comprehensive pre- and post-sales technical expertise, conduct product demonstrations, develop new applications, troubleshoot complex issues, and build relationships with customers. Your role will involve working with cross-functional teams including sales, marketing, R&D, and product management to ensure customer success and drive business growth through technical excellence.

In this role, you will:

  • Collaborate with sales teams and customers to deliver high-quality technical support
  • Conduct product demonstrations showcasing our analytical and scientific solutions
  • Provide comprehensive applications support to optimize customer workflows
  • Deliver training sessions to enable research and innovation
  • Serve as a scientific advisor to customers- Help customers optimize their workflows for maximum efficiency
  • Work across multiple technology platforms- Provide comprehensive pre- and post-sales technical expertise
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers- Understand customer needs and translate them into effective solutions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams - Work closely with sales, marketing, R&D, and product management
  • Stay current with industry trends and technological advancements- Continuously update knowledge of analytical techniques and applications
  • Manage multiple priorities and projects
  • Balance customer support, demonstrations, training, and internal responsibilities
  • This role requires a combination of scientific expertise, technical problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a strong customer-focused mindset. You will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between our cutting-edge technologies and our customers' research and analytical needs.


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Advanced Degree plus 5 years of experience, or Master's Degree plus Over 6 years of experience with relevant analytical instrumentation and applications
  • Preferred Fields of Study: Biopharma, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or related discipline
  • Demonstrated expertise in technical problem-solving and method development
  • Provide pre-, during and post-sales technical support, applications assistance, and consultation in response to customer inquiries (both internal and external), including education, hands-on training, and occasional on-site visits primarily for HPLC, LC/MS, LC/HRMS system
  • Collaborate with commercial team throughout sales cycle to understand customer’s needs and design/prepare detailed application plan that showcase better capabilities of company’s product portfolio/solution in line with customers’ goals.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills with ability to explain complex concepts to diverse audiences
  • Strong presentation and training capabilities for both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a results-oriented environment
  • Experience in project management and ability to handle multiple priorities
  • Willingness to travel up to 50-75%
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and relevant scientific software
  • Customer service orientation and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal teams and external customers
  • Intermediate level in English
  • Valid driver's license and passport required for travel
