Located in the heart of Edgbaston, Birmingham’s medical and research district, the Thermo Fisher Scientific – Binding Site facility at 8 Calthorpe Road is a key operational site specialising in advanced specialty diagnostics. This modern facility supports the development and manufacturing of diagnostic assays used worldwide to improve the detection and monitoring of blood cancers and immune system disorders. How You Will Make an Impact

  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for manufacturing processes and perform in-process testing according to protocols.

  • Support various areas of the business to ensure products are delivered with the highest quality, on time, and in full.

  • Complete training activities and maintain accurate records.

  • Adhere to relevant COSHH and risk assessments for processes and equipment.

  • Ensure maintenance tasks for assigned equipment are carried out correctly and documented properly.

Education & Experience Requirements

Required:

  • High school diploma, secondary education, advanced certificate, or equivalent

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in manufacturing, operations, production, or lab environment

Preferred:

  • Experience working in a cGMP environment

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Experience working in a manufacturing or laboratory setting

  • Strong attention to detail and precision

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team

  • Proficient use of ERP systems for logging progress and transactions

  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office applications and relevant computer software
