How will you make an impact
The Procurement Specialist – EMEA, working in a newly formed indirect Tactical Sourcing Team, you will seek out suppliers and negotiate optimal terms of business to meet business requirements for specific sites, divisions or geographies
You will make a positive impact on the operation of the business and its financial performance
What will you do
Scale of Responsibilities
•    Gather business requirements from stakeholders as the basis for securing proposals and quotes from suppliers
•    Use e-sourcing system for all sourcing activities (RFI, RFP, RFQ) providing full visibility of the activities and responses from suppliers
•    Craft negotiation plans and close deals securing optimal terms from suppliers for assigned sourcing initiatives
•    Collaborate with Regional category managers to support the execution of category strategies by running sourcing events for defined scopes of work
•    Engage with business collaborators to understand their requirements bringing in others within procurement where category expertise is vital
•    Ensure suppliers are set up for success when transacting with Thermo Fisher, working together with colleagues in Shared Service Centers
Technical Responsibilities
•    Engages and supports division/site procurement teams and other key colleagues to qualify preferred suppliers & migrate spend from incumbent, non-preferred suppliers
•    Seek out and engage with vendors, assessing their capabilities and motivations to be a supplier to Thermo Fisher Scientific
•    perform cost and capability analysis of suppliers and their proposals
•    Negotiate contract terms and report on the commercial impact to record productivity improvements
•    Collaborates with cross-functional colleagues (operations, facilities, marketing, finance and legal) to provide a proactive procurement service
•    Brings an authoritative understanding of comparing costs, proposals and quotations on a like for like basis

•    Strong service and professional orientation, does what you say you will do, makes and keeps commitments to timelines and project achievements
•    Commercially oriented to negotiate and secure the best value for money for Thermo Fishers purchases
•    Desire to grow and develop as a procurement specialist
•    Agility and flexibility to develop sourcing expertise in multiple categories (Corporate services, Sites services, IT, Travel) complimenting the regional category team
•    Curious and tenacious to seek out detailed solutions from vendors
•    Ability to collect, analyze and interpret data to inform sourcing decisions
•    Great presentation skills and high ability to articulate in written formats
How will you get here?
•    Bachelor’s degree in Business or technical field
•    Minimum of 3 years procurement/sourcing experience in mid to large multinational companies which have multiple business units/ profit centers
•    Experience working in highly regulated and/or technical industries
•    Confirmed consultative/collaborative style establishing relationships with multiple stakeholders
•    Professional written and oral English language capability; additional European language (especially German) is a plus
•    Ability to travel 15 to 25%
