DESCRIPTION:
Lead supply chain operations for Thermo Fisher Scientific, overseeing end-to-end supply chain activities to ensure efficient, cost-effective delivery of products while maintaining the highest quality standards. Partner with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement and support the company's mission of enabling customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer. Develop and implement effective supply chain strategies aligned with business objectives while cultivating a culture of operational excellence and customer focus.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Execute Supply Chain Strategies in support of the business strategy.
  • Lead a standard Sales, Operations, and Inventory Planning process for the Business Unit
  • Motivate and develop staff to optimize performance and professional growth. Set department priorities, implement and track progress.
  • Support site manufacturing and distribution activities in all aspects of purchased materials in close coordination with all stakeholders, including at least sourcing, planning, production, distribution, sales, and finance.
  • Interface with the relevant corporate sourcing teams to drive improvements to all key procurement metrics, support growth, and mitigate risk.
  • Drive the material flow and availability strategy and measure and improve material availability. Advance the inventory planning approach and achieve inventory targets
  • Own the standard set of critical supply chain metrics to drive business results and to serve as early warning signs of problem performance e.g. inventory health, schedule adherence, OTIF
  • Develop a talent development and acquisition strategy to continuously improve the supply chain function.
  • Closely partner with operations leadership to support achievement of Annual Operating Plans.
  • Apply continuous improvement tools and processes to drive performance improvement


REQUIREMENTS:

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree plus 8 years of experience in supply chain management, with at least 5 years in leadership roles, advanced degree preferred
  • Preferred Fields of Study: Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or related field
  • APICS certifications (CPIM, CSCP) or equivalent preferred
  • Lean Six Sigma certification preferred

Experience

  • Experience leading Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP) processes within a global environment
  • Expertise in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.) and supply chain planning tools
  • Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making capabilities
  • Experience developing and leading effective teams
  • Excellence in stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration
  • Experience with continuous improvement methodologies and process optimization

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Strong financial acumen and budget management skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements in life sciences/pharmaceutical industry preferred
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, matrix organization
  • Demonstrated success implementing supply chain initiatives
  • Experience with inventory optimization and demand planning
  • Proficiency in data analytics and reporting tools
  • Strong project management capabilities
  • Ability to travel up to 20% as needed

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in Massachusetts is $130,000.00–$185,000.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
