Position Summary

As a Trade Compliance Specialist, you’ll be at the forefront of global trade operations across Singapore and Southeast Asia, driving compliance for our Life Sciences Solutions, BioProduction, and Laboratory Products Groups. In this dynamic role, you’ll ensure every import and export process is smooth, secure, and fully aligned with customs laws, international regulations, and company policies. You’ll collaborate with diverse teams—business units, supply chain, procurement, finance, and manufacturing—using your problem-solving and interpersonal skills to keep operations running efficiently and reduce regulatory risks.

What will you do?

  • Classify HS code based on product technical information
  • Make accurate country of origin determination based on regulatory and internal guidelines
  • Provide accurate advisory on import/export regulations and requirements for Singapore
  • Perform screening of entities the company transacts with
  • Coordinate with internal partners to handle import/export exceptions
  • Liaise with government agencies on Singapore import/export licensing requirements
  • Support audit and assessment of trade compliance risks and flag out high-risk areas
  • Perform regular systems updates to maintain the integrity of trade compliance data
  • Train colleagues on trade compliance basics
  • Participate in process improvement projects

How will you get here?

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in any field, although Science or Engineering is preferred

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years trade compliance experience, or similar experience with Singapore regulatory agencies, e.g., Singapore Customs, NEA, MOH
  • Fresh graduates with strong analytical and interpersonal skills may also be considered

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Good grasp of Singapore import and export rules and regulations
  • Experience or familiarity with Singapore's strategic goods control scheme and permit application process
  • Understanding of the US export control system, including rules for permanent exports, re-exports, and deemed export situations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and savvy in handling digital tools
  • Excellent spoken and written English
  • Demonstrates integrity and good judgment when making decisions
  • Highly organized, detailed, and a strong problem solver
  • Excellent collaborator with a talent for connecting and engaging with team members
