Role Description

The Associate position in Hummelstown, PA, provides licensed financial and non-financial support to a dynamic team of Thrivent Financial Advisors. Serving as a key resource, you'll focus on securities, investment advisory products, fixed and variable life insurance, health products, and annuities. Collaborating closely with Financial Advisors, you'll address both the financial and relational needs of Thrivent members, customers, and their families.

Key responsibilities include developing and implementing business and marketing plans to acquire, cultivate, and retain clients; prospecting and marketing efforts; case and proposal preparation; referral generation; and fostering a strong sense of community. Reporting directly to the Financial Advisor, you'll be employed or contracted through them. Thrivent Investment Management Inc. sponsors FINRA registration, while Thrivent Financial for Lutherans handles insurance licensure. This hybrid role (remote with occasional travel to our Hummelstown office or fully onsite) is ideal for licensed professionals ready to grow in a supportive environment.

Detailed Responsibilities

  • Handle sensitive communications with members and customers, including highly confidential information, responding effectively via verbal and written channels to ensure exceptional customer satisfaction.
  • Facilitate and/or co-present product-specific seminars and workshops to educate clients on financial solutions.
  • Identify criteria for fund selection and track performance against indexes, particularly for WRAP accounts.
  • Participate in business planning for the practice, contributing to strategic growth initiatives.
  • Counsel and advise prospective and current members on suitable financial products and investment advisory services.
  • Open and complete product applications accurately and efficiently.
  • Conduct substantive research and information gathering for securities recommendations and investment advice, including due diligence.
  • Obtain essential member/customer financial and suitability information to tailor solutions.
  • Accept and/or enter securities trade orders from customers, including unsolicited orders.
  • Explain, discuss, or interpret insurance coverage; analyze exposures or policies; and provide informed recommendations.
  • Issue certificates of insurance, endorsements, binders, commitments, or insurance contracts.
  • Assist Financial Advisors in preparing and following up on client proposals, cases, and marketing materials.
  • Prospect for new business, generate referrals, and build community engagement among members and prospects.
