Role Description

The Manager, Facilities Operations at Thrivent oversees the efficient operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of our Minneapolis facilities, including our premier Class A corporate office building. This critical leadership role ensures the seamless performance of all building systems—mechanical, electrical, HVAC, life safety, and more. You'll manage construction projects, foster strong vendor relationships, and drive budget planning to align with Thrivent's strategic goals. As a key partner to Workplace Solutions and Real Estate teams, you'll deliver exceptional building services that enhance employee experience, promote sustainability, and minimize downtime. Detailed Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Development

Build and lead a high-performing facilities operations team through strategic recruitment, ongoing coaching, performance management, and recognition programs. Foster a culture of excellence, safety, and continuous improvement to ensure team alignment with Thrivent's mission.

Building Operations

Direct day-to-day operations for Thrivent’s Minneapolis facilities, including the Class A corporate office. Collaborate with Workplace Solutions and Real Estate teams to provide world-class services, from space planning to occupant support.

Preventative & Emergency Maintenance

Oversee comprehensive preventative, corrective, and emergency maintenance programs for mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and life safety systems. Implement proactive strategies to maximize uptime and compliance.

Budget & Financial Management

Develop and manage expense and capital budgets, ensuring cost-effective operations while delivering high-quality outcomes. Analyze variances and optimize resource allocation.

Building Technology

Lead oversight of building technology systems, gaining deep working knowledge of control sequences, panel wiring, hardware, and software. Troubleshoot inefficiencies, resolve downtime, and contribute to new projects by defining scope, objectives, and requirements.

Energy & Sustainability

Manage building automation systems, energy management programs, and sustainability initiatives to drive efficiency, reduce operational costs, and support Thrivent's environmental commitments.

Construction & Project Management

Coordinate infrastructure projects from inception to completion, including scheduling, RFP development, bid evaluations, and contractor oversight. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.

Vendor & Contract Management

Establish service level agreements (SLAs), monitor vendor performance, negotiate contracts, and approve invoicing to maintain reliable partnerships and accountability.

Proven track record in overseeing complex building systems, capital projects, and vendor ecosystems in a corporate setting. Experience in energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives is essential.
