Detailed Responsibilities

  • Iteratively execute business strategies through prioritized product roadmaps and release plans across multiple interconnected products.
  • Lead team collaboration to manage, prioritize, and sequence roadmap items, ensuring they fit within capacity constraints to maximize customer value.
  • Facilitate constructive conflict resolution and coach product teams on achieving specific business outcomes tied to organizational goals.
  • Identify, track, and report on evergreen KPIs and targeted metrics to monitor product health and drive measurable improvements in user experiences.
  • Engage regularly with customers, users, and stakeholders to uncover needs, form product hypotheses, test them, and refine solutions.
  • Collaborate across product teams to develop and roll out operational plans, ensuring alignment on priorities and execution.
  • Research emerging technologies, competitive landscapes, and industry trends to inform platform evolution and innovation.
  • Drive modernization initiatives, including legacy system migrations, architecture simplification, and introduction of self-service cloud provisioning tools.
  • Ensure platforms provide secure, scalable services that support Thrivent's cloud transformation and enhance developer productivity.

Required Skills

To succeed in this Product Manager role at Thrivent, you need a blend of strategic vision, technical acumen, and leadership prowess. Key skills include:

  • Proven product management experience in infrastructure platforms (cloud, databases, hosting).
  • Strong understanding of cloud-native technologies (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and hybrid environments.
  • Expertise in roadmap development, prioritization, and execution using frameworks like OKRs or RICE.
  • Analytical skills for defining and tracking KPIs, metrics, and business outcomes.
  • Stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration in agile environments.
  • Experience modernizing legacy systems and reducing technical debt.
  • Developer experience advocacy, including automation and self-service tools.
  • Technical knowledge of servers, storage, databases (SQL/NoSQL), and provisioning.

Education & Experience
