Role Description

The Senior Application Engineer - Asset Management at Thrivent creates and maintains sophisticated software applications to meet critical business needs in our asset management division. This role involves comprehensive tasks including planning, analysis, design, development/coding, testing, implementation, and ongoing maintenance. You will be responsible for building and maintaining large-scale or complex application systems, collaborating with business leaders, operations support staff, and other technical experts to align with current and future business and technical strategies.

Working in a dynamic team environment, you will leverage agile methodologies to deliver high-impact solutions that support Thrivent's mission of financial clarity. Detailed Responsibilities

  • Provide expert support for business applications (proprietary and vendor-based) including enhancement and new development work on projects, upgrades to existing systems, routine maintenance, and participation in on-call rotation for 24x7 support.
  • Collaborate closely in a team environment with business resources and fellow application engineers, utilizing established agile methodologies and tools to identify, verify, and document technical features that power business-driven technology solutions.
  • Partner with other application engineers and architects to ensure seamless integration of application components, thorough consideration of data impacts, and comprehensive change management across systems.
  • Develop, integrate, test, debug, and document complex application components using a diverse array of cutting-edge technologies.
  • Install application components by adhering to rigorous implementation and verification procedures to guarantee successful system deployments.
  • Mentor junior Application Engineers, fostering skill development and knowledge sharing to elevate team capabilities.
