Role Description

The Senior HR Business Partner - Digital, Data & Technology serves as a key strategic partner to executives and senior leaders within Thrivent's innovative Digital, Data & Technology division. This role provides outcome-based human capital consultation, translating complex business strategies into actionable talent solutions that drive organizational success. Partnering closely with the Director of HR, you'll champion HR strategic priorities and lead the development and execution of talent strategies tailored to high-growth tech functions.

With a strong emphasis on talent management, this position focuses on building robust pipelines for digital transformation roles, advancing organizational capabilities, and empowering high-performance teams. Key initiatives include talent acquisition for specialized tech roles, assessment and development programs, performance management, compensation planning, succession planning, leader development, organizational effectiveness, inclusive culture building, change management, and boosting employee engagement in a fast-paced tech environment.

As a trusted advisor, talent leader, and transformation partner, you'll lead organizational design efforts, from small team restructures to large-scale business unit reorganizations. Strong planning, alignment, and execution skills are essential for delivering successful outcomes in Minneapolis, Minnesota's competitive talent market.

Detailed Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary HR contact for senior business leaders in Digital, Data & Technology, partnering with the Director of HR on talent plans, organizational design, and effectiveness solutions.
  • Translate business goals into integrated talent strategies supporting growth, performance, and engagement in tech-driven areas like data analytics and digital platforms.
  • Collaborate with HR Centers of Expertise (COE) to deliver key programs, including year-end processes, inclusive culture initiatives, workforce planning, and talent reviews.
  • Drive functional talent management, including talent reviews, succession planning, and deploying programs to build pipelines for current strategies and future tech growth.
  • Consult and coach leaders on ethical, inclusive, compliant people practices, developing high-potential talent, fostering inclusive cultures, and handling complex employee matters with escalation to Performance Consulting, Employee Relations, or Legal.
  • Lead organizational design and change management for tech teams undergoing digital transformations and agile restructures.
  • Champion employee engagement initiatives tailored to tech professionals, enhancing retention in competitive fields like software engineering and data science.
  • Partner on compensation planning and performance management to align with market rates for Minneapolis tech talent.
