Role Description

The Training Specialist LIC role at Thrivent is pivotal in facilitating dynamic in-person and virtual learning experiences. Leveraging adult learning principles, this position recognizes diverse learning and work styles while utilizing existing resources and programs. You'll deliver training on essential topics including company orientation, industry knowledge, Thrivent products, processes, systems, and service skills development. Detailed Responsibilities

• Facilitate engaging in-person and virtual learning experiences using established resources and programs to maximize knowledge retention.
• Ensure positive, inclusive, and effective learning environments that meet all intended objectives for diverse participant groups.
• Make moderate revisions to learning materials such as job aids, tutorials, web-based training, workshop curriculum, learner guides, articles, publications, technology tips, and videos based on feedback and updates.
• Consult with business leaders to assess training needs and co-develop tailored solutions and tools.
• Document and maintain comprehensive training records for compliance and continuous improvement.
• Monitor, evaluate, and record training effectiveness; recommend and implement enhancements as needed.
• Provide feedback to content owners, represent training on project teams, and suggest optimal training approaches.
• Offer timely follow-up to participant inquiries to reinforce learning.
• Support design, development, and management of performance-focused learning solutions, including needs assessment and innovative delivery methods.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to infuse business context into learning programs across various channels.
• Identify emerging trends in training practices, research methodologies, and recommend forward-thinking approaches.

Required Skills

Thrivent seeks Training Specialists with proven expertise in adult learning facilitation. Key skills include:

• Virtual training delivery proficiency using platforms like Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or Webex.
• Adult learning principles application for diverse audiences.
• Learning needs assessment and analysis.
• Curriculum revision and instructional design.
• Training effectiveness evaluation and metrics tracking.
• Stakeholder collaboration and consultation.
• Learning management system (LMS) experience, e.g., Cornerstone or SuccessFactors.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Project management for training initiatives.
• Knowledge of financial services training topics preferred.

Education & Experience

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Instructional Design, Human Resources, or related field; equivalent work experience considered.
• 3-5 years of experience delivering training in in-person and/or virtual settings.
• Demonstrated success in financial services, insurance, or licensed environments (LIC designation relevant).

Preferred: Certification in Training and Development (e.g., CPTD, ATD), experience with compliance training in regulated industries.
