Role Description

At Thrivent's Workplace Solutions team, we believe the workplace is more than just a space—it's an experience. The Workplace Services Specialist plays a pivotal role in bringing our workplace to life by delivering thoughtful services and amenities that enhance employee well-being, engagement, and productivity. Reporting to the Workplace Solutions Manager, this full-time position offers a dynamic blend of hands-on support, coordination, and problem-solving in a fast-paced corporate setting.

Detailed Responsibilities

Customer & Workplace Support

  • Partner with internal teams and external vendors to coordinate meeting, event, and workplace service requests (Workplace Solutions, Facilities Operations, Event Planning, Security, Catering, etc.).
  • Use systems such as weThrive, Outlook, and CAFM to manage requests, maintain room information, and provide timely updates.
  • Deliver strong customer service and maintain positive working relationships with key stakeholders.

Room, Event & Space Services

  • Perform meeting, training, and event room setups and teardowns.
  • Reset restricted and specialty spaces to standard configurations.
  • Ensure rooms meet quality, safety, and readiness standards.

Furniture Installation & Support

  • Install, adjust, repair, and maintain office and system furniture.
  • Coordinate and occasionally oversee external furniture installers or moving crews.
  • Conduct warranty assessments and support claims.
  • Document as-built layouts and update AutoCAD/FM Systems.
  • Assist with equipment and furniture validation walk-throughs.

Preventive Maintenance (Non-Mechanical)

  • Perform light preventive maintenance on workplace equipment (e.g., bottle filler filters, Bevi/coffee machines, clock resets).
  • Complete minor non-mechanical repairs to support safe and functional spaces.
  • Assist Operations by handling tasks that free mechanics to focus on building systems.

Supplies, Inventory & Safety

  • Order and maintain inventory of supplies and small parts for scheduled maintenance.
  • Keep storage rooms and equipment areas organized.
  • Follow all safety protocols, conduct inspections, and report hazards promptly.
  • Support workplace safety initiatives and emergency preparedness drills.

Additional duties include collaborating on workplace improvement projects, providing on-site support during peak events, and contributing to a culture of continuous improvement in workplace services.

  • Physical ability to lift 50+ lbs, stand for extended periods, and perform manual tasks.

Preferred:

  • Experience in corporate environments or Fortune 500 settings.
  • Certifications in facilities management (IFMA), safety (OSHA), or hospitality.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, FM Systems, or similar tools.
