The Global Merchandising Solution Delivery organization develops the software and systems that determine where millions of products will move around the globe to our stores each day.  Our team thrives on strong relationships with our business partners and working diligently to address their needs which support TJX growth and operational stability. On this tightly knit and fast-paced solution delivery team you will be constantly challenged to stretch and think outside the box.  

As a Test Automation Staff Engineer on the Global Buying Tools ART, you will impact the quality of our core store Buying systems within TJX.  You will set Automation testing strategy and standards for assigned products, maintain library of test cases, execute QA testing, manage defects, and present results to Product Owners, Product management and Business Partners.

We are seeking a motivated, talented, experienced Staff Engineer who can perform testing of medium to high complexity to ensure that systems are implemented and function as designed.  They will partner and collaborate with project team members and the business to design/develop testing strategies. 

Key Responsibilities:

·       Lead the technical direction for test automation within assigned product teams, collaborating with architects, engineers, and business partners to design, develop, and deliver high-quality software and systems.

·       Develop and implement test automation strategies, frameworks, and scripts for complex, integrated systems, including cloud implementations, APIs, and databases.

·       Set standards for automation, maintain a library of automated test cases, manage defects, and present results to stakeholders.

·       Drive operational excellence by integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines and DevOps processes.

·       Act as a lead engineer for medium to large initiatives, prioritizing and assigning tasks, providing guidance, and resolving technical issues.

·       Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites for web, desktop, mobile, and API applications.

·       Lead test automation efforts for major product releases, ensuring robust coverage and efficient execution.

·       Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate automation into the software development lifecycle.

·       Analyze test results, debug failures, and report defects using industry-standard tools.

·       Continuously improve automation frameworks and processes, adopting emerging technologies and methodologies.

·       Support deployment activities, create test data, and ensure operational readiness for new features.

·       Drive efficiency and quality by championing automation adoption and best practices across teams.

·       Champion best practices in DevSecOps, code quality, and performance, ensuring solutions meet all non-functional requirements.

·       Mentor and coach team members, fostering an inclusive environment and continuous learning.

Minimum Qualifications  

·       Possess 10–12 years of experience as an Automation Engineer, with a proven track record in leading and architecting automation projects and implementing robust automation frameworks.

·       Proficient in software testing methodologies and tools 

·       Proven experience creating integrated testing strategies  

·       Proven Ability creating and executing medium to high complexity test cases both manually and/or by automation 

·       Proven experience creating complex test plans utilizing Features, User Stories, and technical design documentation 

·       Proven ability to perform defect management inclusive of triage and reporting 

  • Ability to understand how solutions integrate into the end-to-end systems landscape; Ability to communicate technical direction and future plans to both technical and non-technical audiences.

·       Experience with a scripting language and automation tools 

·       Experience working in agile scrum teams on a large Agile Release Train 

·       Proficient in Jira, Confluence and HP/ALM and Zephyr 

·       Experience with SOAP testing

·       Experience with testing Web applications

Must have technical skills

o   Experience testing integrated Cloud Implementations, Cosmos, or other NoSQL database and API testing

o   Experience with relational databases, including constructing SQL queries

o   Development using scripting languages - C# or Java/J2EE

o   Test Automation Framework development and implementation –Cucumber JVM with Selenium WebDriver, Java, TestNG, REST Assured, Tosca

o   Experience on Continuous Development, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing and Continuous Deployment using various DevOps tools – Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Groovy, Hermes etc.

o   Experience in Behavior Driven Development (BDD), Test Driven Development (TDD), and Automated Testing in large-scale enterprise environments
