1. Monitor global ocean freight market trends (capacity, demand, fuel costs, surcharges).
2. Track competitor pricing and regulatory changes (e.g., environmental fees, tariffs).
3. Analyze trade lanes, carrier performance, and seasonal fluctuations.
4. Create competitive pricing models using cost data (base rates, BAF, CAF, THC) and customer requirements.
5. Negotiate rates with carriers/NVOCCs and maintain rate databases.
6. Adjust pricing based on currency fluctuations, capacity, and contractual agreements.
7. Collaborate with sales to prepare tailored quotes/RFQ responses.
8. Address pricing disputes and provide post-bid support.
9. Use tools (Excel, TMS, BI software) to model pricing scenarios and profitability.
10. Generate reports on pricing performance, win/loss rates, and market share.
11.Identify risks/opportunities in pricing strategies.
12.Partner with procurement for carrier contracts and procurement strategies.
13.Work with operations to ensure feasibility of quoted services.
14.Align with finance to validate cost assumptions and margins.
15.Ensure adherence to Incoterms, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
16.Maintain accurate records of pricing agreements and contracts.
17.Ad hoc tasks assigned by manager
