The opportunity

Database Administration

  • Install, configure, and upgrade Oracle and MS SQL Server databases.Create and manage database instances, schemas, and security roles.
  • Perform proactive monitoring, performance tuning, and optimization of database environments.

Backup & Recovery

  • Implement and maintain backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategies (e.g., RMAN, Always On, Log Shipping, or third-party tools).
  • Regularly test recovery procedures to ensure business continuity.

Performance & Optimization

  • Analyze execution plans, indexes, and queries to enhance performance. Optimize storage and memory usage for efficiency.

High Availability & Replication

  • Manage clustering, replication, and failover solutions (Oracle RAC, Data Guard, SQL Always On).
  • Monitor uptime and ensure SLA compliance

Security & Compliance

  • Apply patches and security updates to maintain compliance with IT policies
  • Implement access controls, encryption, and auditing.

Collaboration & Support

  • Work with development teams to support database design and query optimization.
  • Provide L2/L3 support for production incidents and troubleshooting.

Documentation & Automation

  • Maintain proper documentation for processes, configurations, and procedures.
  • Automate repetitive tasks using scripts or tools

Database Administration
