About Toll Group

At Toll, we do more than just logistics - we move the businesses that move the world. Our 16,000 team members can help solve any logistics, transport, or supply chain challenge – big or small. We have been supporting our customers for more than 130 years. Today, we support more than 20,000 customers worldwide with 500 sites in 27 markets, and a forwarding network spanning 150 countries. We are proudly part of Japan Post — www.tollgroup.com

About ACE Training Centre:

The ACE Training Centre is part of Toll Aviation and a CASA-endorsed Registered Training Organisation (RTO 41569) delivering nationally recognised training to aviation and aeromedical professionals across Australia and internationally. Our advanced facilities include high-fidelity simulators, VR/AR technology, and hands-on rescue environments, making us a leader in airborne operations and helicopter search and rescue training.

The Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced Instructional Designer to join our team and lead the development of compliant, engaging training materials for both classroom and online delivery. This is a critical role as we update all learning resources to meet new CASA legislation, ASQA standards, and revised aviation training packages.

The ACE Training Centre is a unique and dynamic place to work - you’ll work closely with Subject Matter Experts, trainers, and assessors to create high-quality content that reflects real-world operational contexts. This role is based at Bankstown Airport, where you’ll have direct access to our facilities and experts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop learning and assessment materials aligned with Standards for RTOs 2025, AQF, and CASA requirements.

  • Update and create course content for new and existing qualifications.

  • Develop interactive eLearning modules using Articulate Storyline 360 and SCORM standards.

  • Collaborate with SMEs to translate technical information into clear, learner-focused content.

  • Ensure consistency in instructional design standards and apply adult learning principles.

  • Contribute to validation and continuous improvement processes.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience in instructional design within an RTO environment, aviation or similarly highly regulated industry is highly advantageous.

  • Strong knowledge of training packages, units of competency, and VET Quality Framework.

  • Experience creating eLearning content (Articulate Storyline 360 preferred).

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

  • Excellent written communication and attention to detail.

  • Familiarity with LMS platforms (e.g., aXcelerate) and multimedia tools.

  • Diploma of Training Design and Development or similar qualification (preferred).

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 or equivalent).

Why Join Us?

  • Work in a dynamic, hands-on environment with cutting-edge technology.

  • Be part of a supportive, collaborative team passionate about safety and excellence.

  • Enjoy a workplace that’s far from ordinary – helicopters, simulators, rescue training, and more.

  • Parking available on-site.

What moves you?

At Toll, you can help play a vital role in delivering what matters. From food, fuel, medicine and rescue services, we keep businesses and communities thriving. Every day brings change. We see that as an opportunity. To be curious. To ask the right questions. And build meaningful connections. Because finding new ways to solve problems is what we do. With a bold vision to expand our global reach, our 16,000+ people bring a passion for progress. We collaborate in friendly, caring teams, supported by approachable leaders who give us the autonomy to quickly make decisions with impact. Learn and grow with industry-leading training, alongside talented experts. Feel empowered to take on diverse challenges and new responsibilities to move you, our customers, and our world further.

Are you excited about this role but are concerned you don’t meet all the requirements? If you have similar skills and are willing to learn then we encourage you to apply anyway. We know that some people hesitate to apply for jobs unless they meet every single qualification. At Toll, we value a diverse, inclusive and authentic workplace, so if you’re interested in this role but your past experience doesn’t align perfectly then please talk to us – you may be just the right candidate for this or other roles we have coming up.
