Join Our Rolling Stock HUB in Madrid as a System Engineer – Traction and Auxiliaries Systems for Rolling Stock 

Your new role – challenging and future-oriented.

Are you interested in a technically challenging and perspective-intensive activity with which you can make a significant contribution to the expansion of the railway share of freight and passenger services? Then come to us and develop the globally successful rail vehicles from Siemens Mobility in our engineering team.

You will be part of the engineering team for our international projects in Europe, Asia and North America, developing the electrical supply for the propulsion of trains such as hybrid locomotives, high speed and commuter trains and metros. 
You will be responsible for the design, specification, simulation and technical clarification of the traction system (e.g. transformer, converter, traction motor, auxiliaries, traction battery). As part of a team, you implement customer requirements and design the components. A special focus will be on components and system integration required for alternative propulsion such as traction batteries and converters.
You will be responsible for a wide field of technical interfaces, ranging from electric drive technology, operation management and control to mechanical integration. You are involved in all relevant phases of the project, from concept to bid preparation, technical implementation, testing, delivery up to warranty.
You will pick up market requirements and trends to guide our suppliers during the development of our drive components.  
You always stay focused on the reusability of your work results to foster our platform strategy. You have an eye on costs and deadlines and track them individually for your fields of activity. 
You support performing testing of components in the lab and on the vehicle.
Furthermore, you support the homologation process and drive root cause analysis (RCA) in case of failure.


Your qualifications 
You have a completed master's degree in electrical engineering with focus on power electronics.
In addition, you have already gained professional experience in the field of electrical drives. You are proficient in the basic use of simulation tools.
You can understand and define complex systems and use a structured way of working, problem solving and documentation.
You are fluent in English (at least C1-level or equivalent). Additional language skills are an advantage.
You enjoy working with colleagues from different departments and locations.
Readiness for traveling.
