Hours:

  • Evenings 1.0 FTE
  • 3:00pm - 11:30pm
  • Rotating every other weekend and holiday among team
  • Area: Radiology- Computer Tomography
  • Location: Loyola Medicine, Maywood, IL

About the Job

Performs CT procedures using independent judgment and technical skill to produce high‑quality diagnostic images. Ensures safe, accurate, and efficient care while adhering to departmental protocols and regulatory standards.

What you'll do

CT Imaging & Patient Care

  • Perform CT exams according to departmental protocols to produce high‑quality diagnostic images, including 3‑D reconstructions.
  • Explain procedures, obtain relevant patient history, and ensure accurate patient identification.
  • Assist patients with positioning, transfers, and comfort measures while promoting safety and following universal precautions.
  • Administer IV contrast and monitor for reactions, following contrast safety guidelines.

Procedure Support & Workflow

  • Assist radiologists with CT and interventional procedures, including preparing rooms, trays, and equipment.
  • Complete required documentation, exam verification, and image transfer in PACS/RIS/EPIC.
  • Maintain effective communication with patients, radiologists, and medical center staff.

Equipment, Quality & Safety

  • Operate and troubleshoot CT equipment; report malfunctions promptly.
  • Perform daily QA, room checks, supply stocking, and proper medication/contrast labeling.
  • Participate in quality assurance activities to ensure compliance with state and departmental standards.

Training & Team Support

  • Assist in training residents, students, and new technologists.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and well‑stocked imaging environment.

Here is what you'll need

Experience:

    • Required: 1–2 years of related experience
    • Preferred: 3–5 years of related experience

    Education:

    • Required: Associate’s Degree or equivalent training
    • Preferred Degree: Radiologic Technology

    Licensure/Certifications

    Required:

    • American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT)
    • Illinois Emergency Management Agency Certification (IEMA)
    • Computer Assisted Tomography (CT Technologist)
    • CPR from American Heart Association (ONLY)
    • ARRT CT certification required within 13 months of hire (agency staff must have CT certification at start)

    Pay Range: $35.00 -$57.00 per hour 

    Actual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.
