Description:
  • Performs and records scheduled QC.  Notifies a technologist when QC data is outside established limits and takes corrective action as directed.
  • Performs and records routine maintenance of equipment. 
  • Recognizes and documents malfunctions and immediately notifies a technologist.
  • Monitors supply inventory and takes appropriate action to ensure that needed supplies are readily available.
  • Demonstrates ability to verify specimen integrity and suitability before testing.
  • Accurately performs assigned low and moderately complex testing procedures according to established protocols under the supervision of a medical technologist.
  • Reports test results accurately and appropriately under the supervision of a technologist. 
  • Reports critical test results to physician, nursing station, or physician’s office according to established protocol.
  • Effectively prioritizes work to maintain maximum efficiency.  Uses spare time to assist other areas as needed.
  • Performs phlebotomy according to laboratory policies and procedures. 

Minimum Qualifications:

·        Associate of Science degree required.

·        1 year of experience in a clinical laboratory preferred
