What you will do:

A highly skilled healthcare professional who provides anatomic pathology services under the direction and supervision of a pathologist.

  • This role is responsible for the gross examination, dissection, and description of surgical specimens, as well as assisting in postmortem examination, specimen photograph, and teaching support.
  • The Pathologist Assistant ensures high quality specimen processing that supports accurate diagnosis and patient care.

What you will need:

  • Licensure/Certification/Registration: Certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP-PA) required, Pathologist Assistant by examination accepted by the State of Georgia or eligible.
  • Education: Master’s degree from a NAACLS- Accredited Pathologist Assistant program required.
  •  Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a practicing Pathologist Assistant preferred: New graduates from accredited programs considered.
  • Special Qualifications: Proficiency in anatomic laboratory techniques, including frozen section and permanent specimen preparation.
  • Exceptions for requirements: Certification and Education exempt if qualified under CAP GEN.54750 nonwaived Testing Personnel Qualifications, “Qualified and served as a high complexity testing personnel in a CLIA certified laboratory as of December 28,2024.”
