JOB SUMMARY
A sleep trainee develops competency in and performs basic sleep testing procedures and associated interventions. The sleep trainee works under direct supervision of a registered sleep technologist (RPSGT).
JOB SPECIFICATIONS AND CORE COMPETENCIES
Education: GED or High School Diploma
Licensure: Polysomnographic Technician in Training will obtain enrollment in an accredited educational program leading to successful completion of the RPSGT exam.
Must obtain registration by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT) or licensure as a respiratory therapist (RT) within 3 months of completed hours (required to complete registry exam). Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 60 days of hire.
