JOB SUMMARY

• A sleep trainee develops competency in and performs basic sleep testing procedures and associated interventions. The sleep trainee works under direct supervision of a registered sleep technologist (RPSGT).

JOB SPECIFICATIONS AND CORE COMPETENCIES

• Education: GED or High School Diploma

• Licensure: Polysomnographic Technician in Training will obtain enrollment in an accredited educational program leading to successful completion of the RPSGT exam.

• Must obtain registration by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT) or licensure as a respiratory therapist (RT) within 3 months of completed hours (required to complete registry exam). Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 60 days of hire.

• Experience: No experience required
