**About the Role**

Uber is redefining the future of Grocery & Retail. What started as a company moving people from place to place now connects customers with almost anything they need - including groceries and everyday essentials delivered on-demand.

We are hiring **students** to join our growing tech teams in **Santiago, Chile**. These teams support a variety of projects, from delivery experience and catalog integration to backend and web development - all focused on delivering a world-class experience for customers, merchants, and partners.

You will be involved in the full software development lifecycle: from designing and coding backend services, to launching new features and maintaining production systems. You’ll work closely with engineers across the stack, as well as cross-functional partners including product managers, designers, and technical stakeholders.

**What You'll Do**

- **Learn** the vast inner workings of Uber - work with a cross-functional team of engineers, product managers, designers, data scientists, and data analysts
- **Solve -** develop innovative solutions for Uber, helping to write scalable and quality software
- **Mentorship**\- you will have a mentor to support you and provide all the necessary guidance throughout the program.
- **Personal development**\- opportunity to interact with other Uber interns around the region and the world

## **Basic Qualifications**

- **Education:** Enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program for the full duration of the internship in Software Engineering, Computer Science or related areas

- **Graduation**: Expected graduation date between December 2026

- **English proficiency:**Ā Able to present ideas in a comprehensive, yet succinct manner

- **Available to start on March, 2026** and work 30 hours a week for 6 months - hybrid mode (mandatory to be Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday @ the office in Santiago)

## **Preferred Qualifications**

- **Communication**: Using interpersonal skills and situational awareness to clearly deliver information to a variety of audiences
- **Skills:** It will be a differential to have experience with software engineering through previous projects (personal or college), hackathons, programming marathons, coding challenges, scientific initiation and/or publications, knowledge of data structures, algorithms and associated programming languages and frameworks. (e.g. C, C++, Java, Python or Golang)
- **Planning and Organization**: Setting up and maintaining systems to appropriately structure and keep track of tasks and projects
- **Problem Solving**: Effectively resolving issues that involve people, things, and processes by using logic and common sense
- **Stakeholder Management**: Taking time to build meaningful relationships; earning the trust of others within the organization through strong situational awareness and reliability
- **Teamwork**: Demonstrates optimism, respects others, and works well in a team
