**About the Role**

The Experimentation Science team is responsible for building the experimentation platform at Uber, providing reliable, trustworthy and agile experimentation and experiment analysis to power business decisions across the entire Uber ecosystem.

**What You Will do**

- Develop and implement statistical / econometric methodologies to improve results validity, power and generalizability.

- Guide and assist customer teams throughout the experimentation lifecycle, including experiment design that addresses business questions, experiment implementation, appropriate methodological choices for analysis, and interpretation of results.

- Educate peers about experimentation best practices and pitfalls through presentations, documentation, face-to-face discussions and other channels.

- Work with customers and other stakeholders to understand business goals for experimentation, identify areas of opportunity in platform functionality, and drive cross-functional platform development across science, product and engineering end-to-end from ideation to productionalization.

- Mentor junior colleagues and continuously contribute to upleveling the skills of the team.

**Basic Qualifications**

- Ph.D. in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research or other quantitative field with a focus on or substantial experience in statistical / econometric methodology.

- Ability to use Python to work efficiently at scale with large data sets (including exploratory data analysis, model / methodology prototyping, statistical analysis and simulations).

- Advanced knowledge of experimental design and statistical / econometric methods.

**Preferred Qualifications**

- 2+ years of industry science experience or post-PhD experience
- Experience developing experimentation methodology and building experimentation platforms.

- Experience with production-level software development.

- Track record of technical leadership.

For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$183,000 per year - USD$203,000 per year.

For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$183,000 per year - USD$203,000 per year.

For Sunnyvale, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$183,000 per year - USD$203,000 per year.

For all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
