**About the Role**

The Earner Financials group is a foundational part of Uber’s Earner organization. Our mission is to enable Uber to be the most reliable and rewarding earnings platform for drivers and couriers across the globe. This organization spans four mission-critical verticals:

1. **Earnings**: To provide earners with clear, consistent, and easily accessible data and visibility into their earnings, performance metrics, and financial status. Help drivers understand their earnings, and strategize on mechanisms to improve their earnings.
2. **Benefits**: A growing portfolio of benefits such as Earning Guarantees, Accrual Benefits and 3rd Party Benefits that Uber provides to the gig workers.
3. **Subscription**: To offer earner-facing subscription products, such as Drive Pass which provide benefits like 0% service fees, and enable earners to evaluate the effectiveness of their subscription through relevant metrics.
4. **Tipping**: Experiences that foster appreciation from riders and eaters to earners.

We are seeking a Senior Staff Engineer (L6) to lead the technical direction and architecture across all verticals in the Earner Financials space. You will be the technical voice for systems that are under intense regulatory scrutiny, responsible for ensuring absolute accuracy, auditability, compliance, and resilience. You’ll be driving engineering direction in one of the most sensitive and high-stakes domains at Uber. As a Senior Staff Engineer, you will be directly responsible for multiple projects from inception to production readiness and will define and deliver on the goals and technical direction within the organization with a sense of urgency.  You will be expected to foresee architectural problems and opportunities the organization will face a year out and work with engineering leadership to address them proactively.

- **Champion compliance and audit readiness** by embedding regulatory guarantees into the core architecture of our financial stack.
