šŸ“ Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada

šŸ¢ Department: Operations

šŸ“„ Full Description

**About the Role**

Grocery & Retail is one of Uber’s fastest-growing businesses, enabling consumers to get just about anything delivered through the Uber Eats app or UberEats.com. As a Senior Strategic Operations Manager, you will own the performance and growth strategy of a merchant category (e.g., retail, convenience, alcohol), with a focus on SMBs and mid-sized Enterprise accounts.

This role offers the opportunity to define category strategy, design scalable playbooks, and lead high-impact initiatives that directly drive Uber’s revenue growth and customer experience. You will work closely with cross-functional partners—including Product, Catalog, Partner Management, Marketplace, Finance, and Legal—while piloting first-of-its-kind projects that shape the competitive edge of Uber Grocery & Retail.

We’re looking for a strategic operator who thrives in ambiguity, combines analytical rigor with business judgment, and can influence across levels to deliver meaningful impact.

**What You’ll Do**

- Category Ownership: Own the end-to-end performance of a merchant category, including revenue, order growth, and customer satisfaction. Develop and execute scalable strategies that accelerate merchant success across SMB and mid-market accounts.
- Strategy & Problem-Solving: Frame complex business problems, conduct rigorous analysis, and develop thesis-driven recommendations that shape category performance and global G&R priorities.
- Data Analysis & Insights: Pull, analyze, and structure large data sets (SQL, Excel/Sheets) to uncover insights, design experiments, and distinguish signal from noise. Translate findings into actionable playbooks that scale.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Influence and align diverse stakeholders (Product, Ops, Finance, Legal, Support) to ensure execution against tight deadlines while shaping longer-term category roadmaps.
- Pilot & Scale: Launch innovative pilots and operational improvements, measure impact, and codify learnings into playbooks that can be rolled out globally.
- Executive Communication: Synthesize findings into clear, compelling narratives for senior leadership, driving alignment and visibility on priorities.

**Basic Qualifications**

- 4+ years of professional experience in strategy, operations, analytics, consulting, or a related field
- Strong proficiency in SQL and Excel/Google Sheets
- Bachelor’s degree
- Demonstrated ability to independently structure, analyze, and solve complex business problems.

**Preferred Qualifications**

- Experience in Grocery, CPG, Retail, or marketplace businesses.
- Proven success in category or channel strategy, playbook development, or scaling SMB/mid-enterprise accounts.
- Previous client-facing or stakeholder management experience, with ability to influence across multiple levels.
- Experience working with complex data sets and tracking/hitting multiple OKRs.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment while balancing multiple priorities.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a track record of proposing creative, pragmatic solutions.
- Familiarity with two-sided marketplace dynamics (merchant, courier, customer).

For Canada-based roles: The base salary range for this role is CAD$114,000 per year - CAD$127,000 per year.

You will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits. More details can be found at the following link [https://www.uber.com/careers/benefits](https://www.uber.com/careers/benefits).
