Role Overview

The Ubuntu Enablement Software Engineering Manager role in Taipei, Taiwan, is a pivotal leadership position within Canonical's Device Delivery Team. Key Responsibilities

  • Define team goals, prioritize tasks, and track health indicators to maximize performance and career development.
  • Collaborate with project managers, hardware enablement (HWE), QA, and certification teams for seamless execution.
  • Monitor projects end-to-end, handle escalations, and resolve technical issues with OEMs, ODMs, SiPs, and IHVs.
  • Prioritize global customer requests and partner with Canonical's product teams in Desktop, Foundations, Kernel, and Security.
  • Champion engineering methodologies, strategies, standards, tools, and best practices across the team.
  • Travel as needed to EU, USA, China, and Taiwan to build relationships and drive initiatives.

Qualifications & Requirements

To succeed, candidates must hold a Bachelor's or higher degree in STEM, ideally Computer Science or Software Engineering. A proven track record in technical Linux roles, especially Ubuntu or Debian, is essential.
