Job Summary
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for driving productivity improvements, reducing costs, and supporting high‑quality manufacturing through engineered process design, plant layout optimization, Lean Manufacturing, and technical support for mill programming. The role functions as an internal consultant to improve workflow efficiency, establish standardized work, enhance assembly operations—especially high-volume fixtures—and ensure smooth, cost-effective execution of new and existing customer projects.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
- Analyzes production processes to identify waste and inefficiencies.
- Designs and maintains efficient plant layouts.
- Serves as backup CNC/mill programmer.
- Develops SOPs for assembly with focus on high‑volume fixtures.
- Review new projects for labor and material savings.
- Leads CI initiatives including Kaizen and waste walks.
- Trains employees in Lean principles.
- Supports cross‑functional teams and resolves production issues.
- Ensures compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field preferred.
- 5+ years manufacturing experience preferred.
- CNC programming or CAD/CAM.
- Lean Manufacturing experience preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
- Effective communication across all organizational levels.
